This course provides a comprehensive introduction to building energy performance, focusing on how buildings use energy, how performance is evaluated, and how engineers identify improvement opportunities. The course integrates theoretical principles with practical assessment methods commonly applied in industry, including the use of Energia Suite.
Participants will gain knowledge across the key domains that influence building energy use: Building Envelope, HVAC systems, lighting, ventilation, domestic hot water, plug loads, and operational behavior. The course also introduces structured approaches for auditing, benchmarking, and interpreting building performance metrics.
The training prepares participants to contribute effectively to performance assessments, energy audits, and decarbonization studies.
